The Protekt® 500 Gel-Infused Foam Pressure Redistribution Mattress features revolutionary (VGPT)™ Visco Gel Polymer Technology to deliver unprecedented pressure redistribution, rapid heat dissipation, and dramatically improved breathability compared to traditional foam. By channeling heat away from the body far faster than conventional foam, it virtually eliminates perspiration and helps reduce the occurrence of pressure sores. Its superior pressure redistribution provides more support and less cradling at higher levels of compression, spreading pressure over a large surface area to eliminate static fatigue, while a 30-degree slope protects the vulnerable heel area by redistributing pressure across the entire leg. The integrated PTSS Rail System adds extra support for easy patient transfers and edge-of-bed sitting, and the stretch nylon top cover reduces perspiration with a low-shear, low-friction surface that is anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, and fluid resistant. A triple-laminate vinyl bottom cover adds further fluid resistance along with anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, and fire-retardant protection, and a fire sleeve meets Federal Fire Code 16 CFR Part 1633.
